Dog training services

Eight programmes, one method: teach the dog in a language it understands, motivate rather than correct, and involve the whole family. Every class below is described exactly as the centre publishes it — call 405-224-7715 to find the next start date.

Positive and fun training techniques

Our goal is to teach you to communicate with your dog in a manner the dog understands. Using positive motivation techniques, learn how to teach self control, manners and simple tricks. We encourage the entire family to attend training sessions.

Puppy Pre-School

A different topic covered each week, including the ABC's of puppy parenting, house training, nipping, jumping, and appropriate games to play with your dog, with plenty of time for socialising.

Clicks 'n Tricks

Fun with tricks — a light-hearted class for dogs and owners who have the basics and want to enjoy training together.

Private instruction & behaviour counseling

Scheduled at your convenience, for dogs that need more attention than a group class can give, or for problems you would rather discuss in private.

Common questions

Agility at the Blanchard facility

Agility classes run on Friday nights at 7 pm at the Blanchard facility: tunnels, tyre jumps, hurdles and contact obstacles, in a fenced field. It is the class owners ask for once their dog has learned the basics, and the one that tires out the dogs who never seem to tire out.

Assistance and service dogs

Barbara Lewis began working with people with disabilities and assistance dogs in 1993 and is the founder of A New Leash On Life, Inc., a non-profit agency that implements dog training programmes in correctional facilities. Dogs in those programmes are evaluated for natural traits and their training is tailored to a specific job: therapy dog, nursing facility resident dog, assistance dog or family pet.

Not sure which class fits?

Call 405-224-7715 or email info@listenuppup.com — the centre is at 622 Alameda, Norman, OK 73070. Tell us the dog's age and what you would like to change, and we will point you at the right class — a puppy is not a small adult and a seven-year-old dog is not a lost cause.
